DREW ERICKSEN

 

 

 

Drew Ericksen has been dancing since she was 2 ½ years of age. She trains at the School of Dance Arts with many talented teachers and choreographers such as Chrystie Cannon, Talia Barrows and Henry Roy. Committed to dance and academics, Drew aspires to study at CAPA and is committed to expanding her dance repertoire by continually working with new teachers and choreographers.

Drew also enjoys modeling, musical theatre, teaching young children, and helping her mother run a dance studio. At the current age of 13 she is already a seasoned teaching assistant and assistant rehearsal director. Drew is honored to have this opportunity to dance with DANSE4NIA and is very grateful for Antoinette Gilmore’s commitment and vision.


 

ALEXIS HAGAN

 

 

 

 

Alexis is an 11 year old student at John B. Kelly Elementary School who has always loved to dance. At the age of 2, she watched, studied and could then perform the dance piece to “Can you Feel a Brand New Day” from the movie “The Wiz.”

At age 3, Alexis began formal dance training at Lee Dance Studio studying Ballet, Tap & Jazz.  At age 6, she then went on to study ballet at Wissahickon Dance Company for 3 years.  During this time, Alexis had the opportunity to perform for two seasons with the internationally acclaimed Donetsk Ballet of the Ukraine in their adaptation of “The Nutcracker.” She currently trains at School of Dance Arts where she studies Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Tap and Hip-Hop and is also a member of SDA’s “Rise” Sr. Dance Company. 

In the summer of 2008, Alexis had the opportunity to participate in the Young Performers Theatre Camp Summer Dance program where she studied Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Modern.


 

TERRILL HAIGLER

 

 

 

Terrill Haigler, a Philadelphia native, has been dancing for the past eleven years. Terrill began his training at the New Freedom Theater. A graduate from the dance department of the High School for Creative and Performing Arts, Terrill attended a year at Coppin State University where he was a member of Coppin State University Dance Ensemble as well as their award winning tennis team.

Terrill’s performance credits included performing in the Thanksgiving Day Parade produced by ABC, several productions and functions with the Performing Arts Training Program of the New Freedom Theatre. Terrill has worked with choreographers such as Patricia Scott-Hobbs, Shawn-Lamere Williams and LaDiva Davis.

 

 

ALIYAH JONES

 

 

 

Aliyah Jones began dancing at local recreation centers in inner city Philadelphia when she about five years old. At the age of twelve, she began to study dance with Josephine Hunter who introduced Aliayh to Soliloquy In Motion Act II. There, she received training from notable teachers like David St. Charles, former dancer with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Company.

Currently, Aliyah is a senior at Imhotep Institute Charter High School where she is a member of the Imhotep Modern Dance Theatre under the direction of Antoinette Coward-Gilmore and Adrienne Hall-Cedeno.


 

TATYANNA NANCE

 

 

 

 

Tatyanna Nance is a 15 year old student at New Media Technology Charter High School. Tatyanna has been studying dance for the past five years. She has attended The Pointe Dance Studio, Brenda Lee Performing Arts Studio and Metropolitan Ballet Academy. Tatyanna has studied different genres of dance such as Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Horton, Salsa, African and Hip-Hop.

Tatyanna has performed in several plays and productions including the 2008 Summer Studio at the Prince Music Theater under the direction of Carolyn Sims-Nesmith. Tatyanna wishes to pursue a career in dance and she knows the apprenticeship program with Danse4Nia will be an asset to assist her in achieving that goal.
